Maria Callas - The Divine Emotion

Sirmione, city of Maria Callas: music, theater, photography, art, a prestigious calendar of cultural initiatives conceived and organized by the Municipal Administration of Sirmione, which will weave music, art, photography and theater over a three-year period.

Sirmione will express all its essence through unique moments: major international exhibitions, concerts and theater, alternating with meetings with great personalities from the world of culture.

A unique project, fueled by the power of change expressed by the voice and personality of Maria Callas and oriented along two main lines:

• the enhancement of young people, artists in pursuit of success exactly as it was for Maria when in 1947 she landed in Naples, having her extraordinary talent as her only baggage
• the orientation towards innovation, also in artistic and cultural languages, and the search for beauty, essential resources to overcome every historical moment of crisis.

For its landscape, historical and artistic vocation, Sirmione is the ideal, perhaps unique, stage to represent such an ambitious project and to give voice to an equally strong message.

"Right now we like to imagine Sirmione as a palette of 1000 colors - comments Mauro Carrozza , Councilor for Culture - exalted by the diffused light by the name and work of Maria Callas, who spent beautiful years here, offering and receiving moments of great serenity".

The entire Sirmione area will be the protagonist of the “Sirmione Callas 21 · 23” project, from the Grotte di Catullo to Punta Grò, passing from Colombare and Lugana to Rovizza, stopping in the cellars bordered by splendid vineyards.
